Therapy description:

Reflexology is the art of applying pressure to specific areas of the feet known as Reflex points. These reflex points correspond to certain points or organs of the body, and the foot is seen as a mirror of the body. When pressure is applied to these points, the nerve pathways are stimulated and sometimes small crystalline deposits are cleared which allow the energy to flow smoothly again. The human body has the ability to heal itself, however during illness or times of stress and following injury or disease, these vital energy pathways become blocked which then results in imbalances which can cause pain and distress and prevent us from functioning effectively.
During a treatment a Reflexologist can often detect imbalances in the feet, and by working on these points releases the blockages and tensions, which will help to restore the balance of energy throughout the whole body
Reflexology is often found to be deeply relaxing and during a session the whole body is treated, rather than just the symptoms.
Each treatment session lasts an hour and most people find they benefit form a series of treatments, from which they feel their health and well being steadily improving, although some people will report considerable benefit after one session. Reflexologists do not claim to cure diagnose or prescribe.

Reiki originated in Japan at the end of the 19th century.
Reiki is a completely safe, gentle and non invasive hands on healing technique, which uses universal energy to treat physical ailments, and mental and emotional issues, without using pressure manipulation or massage. It is a holistic system for balancing, healing and harmonising all aspects of the person – body, mind ,emotions and spirit. Reiki is a Japanese word meaning Universal Life force energy. It is the energy within and around all living things. When you come for a Reiki treatment you remain fully clothed. People normally lie down to receive a Reiki session. However you can receive it sitting. A treatment normally begins at the head and I will place my hands in different position which correspond to the main body organs and glands of the endocrine system. Occasionally people prefer to receive the Reiki without being touched at all. Each position is held for several minutes before moving on. During a treatment you may feel a number of sensations usually pleasant and deeply relaxing. As Reiki practitioners we say that Reiki always gives the recipient what they need at the time. Some people feel very energised whilst others will feel deeply relaxed and may need a little time to reorientate. Others will drift off to sleep. Stress Management/Relaxation : In these sessions I teach a variety of techniques which can be Taken home and gradually incorporated into ones daily life to relieve stress and tension. The whole idea is to have tools so that the tension does not build up. We all have stress in our lives. Some is good an motivates us. However it is the degree of stress that determines whether it is positive or negative. To learn how to meditate or to relax is so beneficial that as soon as we have a problem we can use the methods we have learned. I use a number of breathing techniques which are all quite simple, also Visualisation and muscular relaxation. We normally work with a couple of methods per session for a few sessions. Some people will find that some techniqes are more effective than others and also that different stressors require different methods of Relaxation. Stress Management usually helps people to sleep well and to be more effective and creative in everyday life. I often incorporate simple relaxation into my Reflexology and Reiki treatments.

I love one to one with people, getting to know them and I love massage so Reflexology seemed the perfect job for me. I believe in value for money so I use a fairly strong touch to route out problems and people say they are very relaxed at the end. However I can do gentle if required.

Reiki is a spiritual journey for me aswell as a beautiful treatment. It is the one I often choose for myself. It has allowed me to really grow and it has been a privilege to use it.

TFH Kinesiology uses touch and massage to balance the meridians and is a fantastic treatment to use and really suits some people well.
